Digging shovel ATLAS DIAMANT, Drents model with a 1/4 socket angle bent and blade size 000, complete with a strongly bent gooseneck shovel handle measuring 100 cm, fitted with a through-mount T-grip. The polished blade is hardened and has a sharp edge. The ASH ATLAS gooseneck shovel handle is made from ash under-stems, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood has been re-dried in a climate chamber under computer control. As a result the handle does not shrink, tools remain firmly fixed to the handle and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or staples. In addition the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba which ensures a longer lifespan and a pleasant smooth handle, preventing blisters.Explanation of socket angleThe socket angle indicates the angle relative to the blade. The higher the socket angle, the more slanted the socket. This determines whether a tool is designed as a digging shovel or a scoop shovel. The socket angle is measured from the ground to the socket when the blade lies flat on the ground.Straight: the handle stands almost straight on the blade1/4: the socket is bent 35 mm, for example for digging shovels1/2: the socket is bent 55 mm, for example for scoop shovels and concrete shovels3/4: the socket is bent 70 cm, for example for scoop shovels and deep shovelsExplanation of blade widthIn the past there were blade widths that ranged from number 2 down to 0, with 2 being the largest. Over time blades had to be made smaller due to working conditions and smaller sizes were introduced.Blade sizes for shovels and spades from large to small are: 2 – 1 – 0 – 00 – 000
