OUR HISTORY
The story of Kooijmans Quality Tools began in 1814, when founder André Kooijmans opened his basket-making workshop in Schijndel. What started as a small craft evolved into a leading family business in hand tools, built on seven generations of craftsmanship, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Each generation brought renewal while staying true to our core values: quality, reliability, and commitment. Our history is one of perseverance, growth, and pride in where we come from.

SUSTAINABLE ENTREPRENEURSHIP
At Kooijmans Quality Tools, we believe sustainability is not a trend, but a responsibility. For years, we have taken conscious steps to reduce our environmental impact — from using FSC-certified wood and circular packaging to generating our own energy with 864 solar panels. We also reuse wood residues to heat our workshop. Every day, we work towards a future-proof company that does what is right for people, the planet, and society.

We value ethics, sustainability, and transparency in our operations. That is why we have chosen the SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit), an internationally recognized audit focusing on labor standards, health and safety, environmental practices, and ethical business conduct.
STICHING GERED GEREEDSCHAP
Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond the environment — it also includes social impact. Sometimes we receive tools that are unsuitable for sale but still perfectly usable. We donate these items to the Tools to Work Foundation, which refurbishes and sends them to vocational schools and projects in developing countries.
FSC® LICENTIE
At Kooijmans, we work with almost all our wood from sustainable sources, with FSC® certification as a key standard. The Forest Stewardship Council® works to restore and protect forests worldwide. Our certificate number is CU-COC-808410.
