Digging shovel ATLAS DIAMANT made of stainless steel or INOX, Drents model with socket position 1/4 bent and blade size 000, complete with a strongly bent ATLAS gooseneck shovel handle, 100 cm long, fitted with a through-mount T-grip. The stainless steel blade has a sharp cutting edge.

Stainless steel shovels and spades are rustproof and nicely smooth, but are more prone to breakage than boron steel. Therefore, no warranty is given for blade breakages on stainless steel spades and shovels.

The ASH ATLAS gooseneck shovel handle is made from ash rootstocks, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood has been re-dried in a climate chamber under computer control. As a result the handle does not shrink, tools remain firmly fixed to the handle and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or staples. In addition, the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba, which ensures a longer lifespan and a pleasant smooth handle, preventing blisters.

Explanation of socket angle
With the socket angle the angle relative to the blade is indicated. The higher the socket angle, the more tilted the socket is. This determines whether a shovel or spade is designed for digging or for scooping. The socket angle is measured from the ground to the socket when the blade lies flat on the ground.

Straight: the handle is almost straight in line with the blade
1/4: the socket is bent up 35 mm, for example for digging shovels
1/2: the socket is bent up 55 mm, for example for scoop shovels and concrete shovels
3/4: the socket is bent up 70 cm, for example with scoop shovels and deep shovels

Explanation of blade width
In the past there were blade widths that ranged from number 2 down to 0, with 2 being the largest. Over time the blades had to be made smaller because of working conditions, and smaller sizes were introduced.
