Digging shovel ATLAS DIAMANT, Drents model with a straight socket position and blade size 000, complete with a slightly bent ATLAS gooseneck shovel handle, length 100 cm, fitted with a through-mount T-grip. The polished blade is extra hardened and has a sharp cutting edge.

The ATLAS gooseneck shovel handle is made from ash wood rootstocks, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood has been dried back under computer control in a climate chamber. As a result, the handle does not shrink, tools remain firmly attached to the handle and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or a staple.

Additionally, the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba, which ensures a longer lifespan and a pleasantly smooth handle, thereby preventing blisters.

Explanation of socket angle
The socket angle indicates the angle relative to the blade. The higher the socket angle, the more the socket is tilted. This determines whether a shovel or spade is designed for stabbing or scooping. The socket angle is measured from the ground to the socket, when the blade is lying flat on the ground.

Straight: the handle is almost straight on the blade
1/4: the socket is bent up 35 mm, for example for digging shovels
1/2: the socket is bent up 55 mm, for example for scoop shovels and concrete shovels
3/4: the socket is bent up 70 cm, for example on scoop shovels and deep shovels

Explanation of blade width
In the past there were blade widths that ran from number 2 down to 0, with 2 being the largest. Over time the blades had to be made smaller due to working conditions and smaller sizes were introduced.
