The Holsteiner shovel is in high demand on the German market and is widely used by pavers, gardeners and in earthworks, roadworks or hydraulic engineering. A concrete shovel is ideal for scooping up, for example, sand or soil and for leveling a sand bed.

The ASH ATLAS shovel handle is made from ash rootstocks; this contains the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood has been re-dried in a climate chamber under computer control. As a result, the handle does not shrink, tools remain firmly attached to the handle and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or staples. Additionally, the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba, which provides a longer service life and a pleasant smooth handle, preventing blisters.

Explanation of socket angle
The socket angle indicates the angle relative to the blade. The higher the socket angle, the more tilted the socket is. This determines whether a shovel or spade is designed for stabbing or scooping. The socket angle is measured from the ground to the socket when the blade lies flat on the ground.

Straight: the handle is almost straight with the blade
1/4: the socket is bent up 35 mm, for example for digging shovels
1/2: the socket is bent up 55 mm, for example for scoop shovels and concrete shovels
3/4: the socket is bent up 70 cm, for example for scoop shovels and deep shovels

Explanation of blade width
In the past, blade widths ranged from number 2 down to 0, with 2 being the largest. Over time, blades had to be made smaller due to working conditions, and smaller sizes were introduced.
