Concrete shovel ATLAS DIAMANT with socket position 1/2 bent up, blade size 0 and straight edge with rounded corners. The ASH ATLAS shovel handle is made from lower trunks of ash wood, which contain the best timber. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood has been re-dried in a climate chamber under computer control. As a result, the handle does not shrink, tools remain firmly attached to the handle, and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or staples.

ATLAS handles are bent in boiling water. This causes the wood grain or fiber in the handle to bend along and prevents the grain from coming out of the handle. The bending process makes the handle extremely strong. In addition, the ATLAS handle is waxed with the plant-based Carnauba, which provides a longer lifespan and a pleasant, smooth handle, thereby preventing blisters.

The socket angle indicates the angle relative to the blade. The higher the socket angle, the more slanted the socket. This determines whether a shovel or spade is designed for penetrating or for scooping. The socket angle is measured from the ground to the socket when the blade lies flat on the ground.

In the past there were blade widths that ran from number 2 down to 0, with 2 being the largest. Over time the blades had to be made smaller due to working conditions and smaller size ranges were introduced.
