Concrete shovel ATLAS with socket setting 1/2 and blade size 0. The red lacquered blade is extra hardened. Complete with an extra double-bent ATLAS gooseneck shovel handle in length 110 cm, fitted with a through-mount T-grip. Thanks to the extra double-bent handle, the blade sits nicely flat on the ground.

The straight front edge of this concrete shovel makes it ideal for leveling or for smoothly scooping a sand bed or trench. This concrete shovel is often used by paving contractors, infrastructure companies and landscapers.

The ash wood ATLAS shovel handle is made from ash under-stems, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood has been re-dried in a computer-controlled climate chamber. As a result the handle does not shrink, tools remain firmly attached to the handle, and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or staples.

Additionally, the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba, which ensures a longer lifespan and a pleasant smooth handle, thereby preventing blisters.

The socket angle indicates the angle relative to the blade. The higher the socket angle, the more inclined the socket is. This determines whether a shovel or spade is designed for stabbing or for scooping. The socket angle is measured from the ground to the socket when the blade lies flat on the ground.

Straight: the handle is almost perfectly straight with the blade.

1/4: the socket is bent up 35 mm, for example for digging shovels

1/2: the socket is bent up by 55 mm, for example for scoop shovels and concrete shovels

3/4: the socket is bent up 70 cm, for example on scoop shovels and deep shovels

In the past there were blade widths that ran from number 2 down to 0, with 2 being the largest. Over time the blades had to be made smaller because of working conditions, and smaller sizes were introduced.
