ATLAS cable shovel with a high, upward-bent socket and a strong, long ATLAS handle.

Cable shovel or deep shovel ATLAS, width 16 cm, 3/4 upturned, with a straight underside. The extra hardened blade is black lacquered. Complete with bent ATLAS handle, length 130 cm.

Thanks to the narrow shape and the highly bent socket, a cable shovel is ideal for scooping out trenches. Handy for laying fiber optic cables, irrigation systems or underground cables. ATLAS DIAMANT cable shovels are popular with, among others, GWW and infrastructure companies, pavers, landscapers and in construction.

A cable shovel is also called a banana shovel.

The ATLAS shovel handle is made from ash wood rootstocks, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood has been re-dried in a climate-controlled chamber under computer control. As a result the handle does not shrink and tools remain firmly attached to the handle. In addition, the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based carnauba, which ensures a longer lifespan and a pleasant smooth handle, helping to prevent blisters.

ATLAS and ATLAS DIAMANT cable shovels are available in various versions, both with and without a handle.


Explanation of socket angle
The socket angle indicates the angle relative to the blade. The higher the socket angle, the more inclined the socket. This determines whether a shovel is designed to be used for thrusting or for scooping. The socket angle is measured from the ground up to the socket when the blade lies flat on the ground.

Straight: the handle is almost perpendicular to the blade
1/4: the socket is bent up 35 mm, for example for digging shovels
1/2: the socket is bent up 55 mm, for example for scoop shovels and concrete shovels
3/4: the socket is bent up 70 cm, for example on scoop shovels and deep shovels
