A cable shovel is also called a banana shovel. The ATLAS shovel handle is made from ash rootstocks, which contain the best timber. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood has been re-dried in a computer-controlled climate chamber. As a result the handle does not shrink and tools remain firmly attached to the handle. In addition, the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba wax, which ensures a longer service life and a pleasantly smooth handle, helping to prevent blisters.
ATLAS and ATLAS DIAMANT cable shovels are available in various versions, both with and without a handle.
Explanation of socket angleThe socket angle indicates the angle relative to the blade. The higher the socket angle, the more slanted the socket is. This determines whether a spade or a shovel is designed for digging or scooping. The socket angle is measured from the ground to the socket when the blade lies flat on the ground.Straight: the handle is almost straight on the blade1/4: the socket is bent up 35 mm, for example for digging shovels1/2: the socket is bent up 55 mm, for example for scoop shovels and concrete shovels3/4: the socket is bent up 70cm, for example for scoop shovels and deep shovels
