Thanks to the narrow shape and the highly arched socket, a cable shovel is ideal for scooping out trenches. Useful for laying fiber optic, irrigation or underground cables. The ATLAS shovel handle is made from ash under-stems, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood has been re-dried in a climate chamber under computer control. This prevents the handle from shrinking, keeps tools firmly attached to the handle, and allows the through-mount T-grip to be pressed onto the handle without glue or staples. In addition, the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba, which provides a longer service life and a pleasantly smooth handle, helping to prevent blisters.

Explanation of socket angle
The socket angle indicates the angle relative to the blade. The higher the socket angle, the more slanted the socket. This determines whether a shovel is designed for digging or scooping. The socket angle is measured from the ground to the socket, when the blade lies flat on the ground.

Straight: the handle stands almost straight up from the blade
1/4: the socket is bent up 35 mm, for example for digging shovels
1/2: the socket is bent up 55 mm, for example for scoop shovels and concrete shovels
3/4: the socket is bent up 70 cm, for example on scoop shovels and deep shovels
