Digging shovel ATLAS DIAMANT, Drents model with socket angle 1/4 bent up and blade size 00, complete with a strongly bent gooseneck shovel handle length 110 cm, equipped with a through-mount T-grip. The polished blade is hardened and has a sharp edge.

The ASH ATLAS gooseneck shovel handle is made from ash butt sections, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood is re-dried in a climate chamber under computer control. As a result the handle does not shrink, tools remain firmly fixed to the handle and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or staples. In addition the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba, which ensures a longer service life and a pleasant smooth handle, preventing blisters.

Explanation of the socket angle
The socket angle indicates the angle relative to the blade. The higher the socket angle, the more inclined the socket. This determines whether a shovel is designed for thrusting (digging) or for scooping. The socket angle is measured from the ground up to the socket, when the blade lies flat on the ground.

Straight: the handle is almost straight on the blade
1/4: the socket is bent up 35 mm, for example for digging shovels
1/2: the socket is bent up 55 mm, for example for scoop shovels and concrete shovels
3/4: the socket is bent up 70 cm, for example for scoop shovels and deep shovels

Explanation of blade width
In the past there were blade widths that ranged from number 2 down to 0, with 2 being the largest. Over time the blades had to be made smaller because of working conditions and smaller size standards were introduced.
