Digging shovel ATLAS DIAMOND 1/4 000 hardened, polished, with ATLAS gooseneck shovel handle 110 cm double bent

Digging shovel ATLAS DIAMANT, Drents model with socket set at 1/4 bent and blade size 000, complete with a double-bent ATLAS gooseneck shovel handle, 110 cm long, fitted with a through-mount T-grip. The polished blade is hardened and has a sharp cutting edge.

The ATLAS gooseneck shovel handle is made from ash rootstocks, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood has been re-dried in a computer-controlled climate chamber. As a result the handle does not shrink, the tool remains firmly attached to the handle and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or a staple.

Additionally, the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba, which provides a longer lifespan and a pleasantly smooth handle, preventing blisters.

Explanation of socket angle
The socket angle indicates the angle relative to the blade. The higher the socket angle, the more slanted the socket. This determines whether a spade or shovel is designed for digging or scooping. The socket angle is measured from the ground to the socket, when the blade lies flat on the ground.

Straight: the handle is almost perpendicular to the blade
1/4: the socket is bent up 35 mm, for example for digging shovels
1/2: the socket is bent up 55 mm, for example for scoop shovels and concrete shovels
3/4: the socket is bent up 70 cm, for example on scoop shovels and deep shovels

Explanation of blade width
In the past there were blade widths that ranged from number 2 down to 0, with 2 being the largest. Over time the blades had to become smaller due to working conditions and smaller sizes were introduced.
