Drainage spade SPEAR & JACKSON 1044 TRD, supplied with straight steps and a plastic T-handle, 78 cm long, fitted with a fiber core. The steps prevent damage to footwear during digging.

This strong forged spade is also called a trench spade or drainagespade. The spade is ideal for digging a narrow trench for, for example, underground cable, irrigation or drainage. Thanks to the slightly pointed blade, the spade easily penetrates the soil. Because of the length of the blade, the trench can easily be made sufficiently deep so that cables and pipes lie at a safe depth.

The plastic handle, thanks to the 21 mm thick fiberglass reinforcement, withstands extremely heavy work and is virtually unbreakable. The strong plastic protects the fiberglass core from damage (damaged fiberglass contains hundreds of protruding fibers; these can cause wounds that may become infected). The handle is not completely rigid, but has a desirable degree of springiness. The grip of the shovel handle is covered with natural rubber, which provides a good grip.

Because this handle is so strong (stronger than the blade), no warranty is given on the mounted blade in the event of breakage.
