This strong forged spade is also called a trenching spade or drainagespade. The spade is ideal for digging a narrow trench for, for example, underground cable, irrigation, or drainage. Thanks to the slightly tapered, pointed blade, the spade penetrates the soil easily. Because of the blade's length, the trench can easily be made deep enough so that cables and pipes lie at a safe depth.

ATLAS spade handles are made from ash wood rootstocks, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-resistant and strong. The handle is fitted with an almost unbreakable 21 mm thick fiberglass reinforcement. This fiberglass rod is milled into the underside of the handle.
