ATLAS shovel handle made of ash wood, bent T-handle in a length of 110 cm, with a strong through-mount T-grip. A shovel handle is often used together with a digging shovel, concrete shovel, scoop shovel, or a cable shovel. A length of 110 cm is by far the most requested length.

ATLAS shovel handles are made from ash root stock, which contains the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing, and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process, sawn ash wood planks are air-dried. During the second process, the ash wood is computer-controlled re-dried in a climate chamber. By re-drying, the handle does not shrink, tools remain firmly fixed to the handle, and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or a staple.

The ATLAS shovel handles are then bent in boiling water. This allows the grain or fiber in the handle to bend with it and prevents the grain from running out of the handle (a running grain is weaker). The bending process makes the handle extremely strong.

Comfortably smooth handle through plant-based waxing

Finally, the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This allows the wood to breathe, does not absorb water or dirt, and retains its beautiful natural color. The waxing ensures a longer service life and a pleasantly smooth handle, which helps prevent blisters. In addition, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
