Because of the oval shape of the handle, the hammer head is always in the correct striking direction. For mounting the handle, a metal hammer wedge no. 3 with item number 651425 is recommended.

Hickory is a heavy, hard American wood species that is even stronger than ash wood. Hickory wood is exceptionally tough, shock-resistant, and resilient.
