Machinist’s hammer ATLAS 400 grams, head size 14 x 24 mm according to DIN 5111

Engineer’s hammer handle ATLAS made of ash wood for a 400-gram engineer’s hammer, with head size 14 x 24 mm and length 31 cm. Due to the oval shape of the handle, the hammer head is always in the correct striking direction. For mounting the handle, a metal hammer wedge no. 3 with article number 651425 is recommended.

ATLAS hammer handles are made from ash rootstocks, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process, sawn ash wood boards are air-dried. During the second process, the ash wood is computer-controlled redried in a climate chamber. By redrying, the handle does not shrink and the hammer head remains firmly fixed to the handle.

The ATLAS handle is then waxed with the plant-based Carnauba. This allows the wood to breathe, does not absorb water or dirt, and retains its beautiful light color. The waxing ensures a longer service life and a pleasantly smooth handle, preventing blisters. In addition, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
