Atlas fencing maul handle, sledge hammer handle or striking hammer handle made of ash wood, with a head size of 45 x 30 mm and a length of 90 cm. Suitable for the steel De Wit fencing maul with item number 1019500. For mounting the handle, two metal hammer wedges no. 4a with item number 651455 are recommended.

The oval shape of the handle ensures that the hammer head is always in the correct striking direction.

Atlas fencing maul and hammer handles are made from ash wood butt logs, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing, and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process, sawn ash wood boards are air-dried. During the second process, the ash wood is redried in a computer-controlled climate chamber. Because of the redrying, the handle does not shrink and the hammer head remains firmly attached to the handle.

Next, the Atlas handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This allows the wood to breathe, prevents it from absorbing water or dirt, and preserves its beautiful natural light color. Waxing ensures a longer service life and a pleasantly smooth handle, helping to prevent blisters. In addition, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than the use of varnish or paraffin.
