Fencing maul handle, garden hammer handle or sledgehammer handle ATLAS made of ash wood, with head size 45 x 30 mm and length 90 cm. Suitable for the metal sleg with article number 1019500. Due to the oval shape of the handle, the hammer head is always in the correct striking direction. For mounting the handle, two metal hammer wedges no. 4a with article number 651455 are recommended.

ATLAS sleg and hammer handles are made from ash rootstock, which contains the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing, and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process, sawn ash wood boards are air-dried. During the second process, the ash wood is computer-controlled dried back in a climate chamber. Because of this drying back, the handle does not shrink and the hammer head stays firmly attached to the handle.

The ATLAS handle is then waxed with the plant-based Carnauba wax. This allows the wood to breathe, prevents it from absorbing water or dirt, and preserves its beautiful light color. Waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasantly smooth handle, helping prevent blisters. In addition, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
