The Gomtaro pruning saw is an indispensable part of the basic equipment of arborists, landscapers, and garden enthusiasts. This is due to the slim shape and clean cut for which this saw is known.

The Silky Gomtaro 270-8 is a fixed pruning saw with a straight 27 cm blade, suitable for branches up to about 13.5 cm thick. The straight blade is easy to guide precisely and leaves a smooth cut. Thanks to its narrow shape, the saw is easy to handle in densely branched tree crowns and when working close to the ground. The rubber GOM handle absorbs vibrations and provides a balanced feel in the hand.

The blade is made of high-quality Japanese steel and has coarse Mirai-Me teeth with 8 tines per 30 mm and a kerf of 1.4 mm. The unset tines have multiple cutting edges and saw across, diagonally, and with the grain. The coarse teeth engage quickly, remove sawdust well, and are intended for fresh, moisture-rich wood. In dry wood, the tines may engage less easily and cause more vibration. The tine tips are inductively hardened and the blade has a nickel coating to protect against wear and rust formation.

The plastic holster has two guide rollers that protect the tines and prevent the saw from falling out. The open bottom of the holster allows moisture and sawdust to drain away. The Gomtaro holster also has a removable belt holder.
