ATLAS pitchfork handle of ash wood, with a length of 150 cm. Fitted with a spring ferrule and a drilled hole. This handle is suitable for two- or three-tined pitchforks with a pin connection.

ATLAS pitchfork handles are made from lower trunks of ash wood, which contain the best material. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process sawn ash wood planks are air-dried. During the second process the ash wood is re-dried in a computer-controlled climate chamber. Because of the re-drying the handle does not shrink and tools stay firmly attached to the handle.

Subsequently the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This ensures the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt and retains its attractive natural color. Waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasant smooth handle, which prevents blisters. Moreover, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.

ATLAS pitchfork handles are manufactured completely energy-neutral in the Netherlands and are available in various lengths.
