Pickaxe-handle ATLAS hickory 90 cm oval, head size 40 x 70 mm

Pickaxe handle or Piochesteel ATLAS of hickory wood, with head size 70 x 40 mm and length 90 cm. Due to the oval shape of the handle the pickaxe is always in the correct striking direction. Among others suitable for pickaxes with article numbers 930010 and 930011. No pegs or wedges are needed to mount this handle.

Hickory is a heavy and hard American wood species that is even stronger than ash wood. Hickory wood is particularly tough, shock-resistant and resilient. The ATLAS hickory handle is also waxed with the plant-based carnauba. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt and retains its attractive natural colour. The waxing provides a longer lifespan and a comfortable smooth handle, preventing blisters. Moreover, waxing handles with plant-based wax is better for the environment than the use of varnish or paraffin.

ATLAS hickory pickaxe handles are, for the most part, manufactured energy-neutral in the Netherlands and are available in various lengths and versions.
