Open the live-catch cage and place bait in the designated spot (at the back of the cage).
Use attractive bait such as peanut butter, meat, or chocolate spread.
Check that the mechanism works properly and the door closes smoothly.
Place the cage securely on a level surface.

Where do you place a rat trap?

Place the live-catch cage along walls, fences, or in corners (rats follow fixed routes).
Position the opening of the cage in the direction the rat is traveling.
Place the cage in spots where you see activity (droppings, burrows, gnaw marks).
Make sure the cage does not wobble or shift.

What is the best way to catch rats?

Use multiple live-catch cages if there is a larger infestation.
Check the rat trap daily, or twice a day if needed.
Use fresh bait and replace it regularly for the best results.

Tip: Rats are smart and cautious. You can place the live-catch cage baited but not activated for a few days first, so the rat gets used to it (pre-baiting).
