Gooseneck shovel handle ATLAS 100 cm, lightly bent, with through-mount T-grip

This gooseneck shovel handle is used for a straight digging shovel or Drents-model bats.

Gooseneck shovel handle ATLAS of ash wood, lightly bent T-handle in length 100 cm, with strong through-mount T-grip. Gooseneck shovel handles are recognizable by the thickened lower end of the handle. The thickened lower end makes the handle extra strong and ensures it sits firmly in the hand. This lightly bent gooseneck shovel handle is usually used together with a straight digging shovel.

ATLAS gooseneck shovel handles are made from ash wood rootstocks, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process sawn ash wood planks are air-dried. During the second process the ash wood is re-dried in a climate chamber under computer control. Because of the re-drying the handle does not shrink, tools remain tightly fixed to the handle and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or a staple.

Subsequently the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba wax. This ensures the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt and retains its attractive natural light color. Waxing provides a longer lifespan and a pleasant smooth handle, preventing blisters. Moreover, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
