Knob handle ATLAS 110 cm straight, milled end, for ATLAS and S&J spade

ATLAS knob handle made of ash wood, straight recessed handle without grip, 110 cm in length. This handle has a recessed point, suitable for Spear & Jackson spades and ATLAS swan-neck spades.

ATLAS knob handles are made from ash rootstocks, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing, and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process, sawn ash wood planks are air-dried. During the second process, the ash wood is computer-controlled re-dried in a climate chamber. Because of the re-drying, the handle does not shrink and the tool stays firmly attached to the handle.

The ATLAS handle is then waxed with the plant-based Carnauba. This allows the wood to breathe, prevents it from absorbing water or dirt, and helps it retain its beautiful light color. Waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasant smooth handle, helping prevent blisters. In addition, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.

ATLAS knob handles are manufactured entirely in the Netherlands with energy neutrality and are available in various versions.
