Jacobskruidvork or Ragfork ATLAS made of steel with 3 tines, wide step, leverage support and plastic D-handle, gray powder-coated, total length 102 cm.
The ideal tool for removing ragwort. Also suitable for digging out other root weeds such as dandelion, sorrel, or thistles.
The ATLAS ragwort fork has a wide straight step, allowing the user to apply extra force with the foot when inserting the tines. Thanks to the straight top side of the step, footwear is not damaged.
Because of its length, wide step, leverage support, and D-handle, the user can work easily in an upright position, contributing to an ergonomic working posture. The D-handle also provides a good, secure grip.
The tines of the weed fork are inserted into the ground next to the plant up to the step. Thanks to the rounded support at the rear, the fork can easily be moved backward as a lever, lifting the entire plant out of the ground. Take care with heavier soil types such as clay or compacted soils.
Ragwort (Jacobaea vulgaris subsp. vulgaris) is an herbaceous plant that is poisonous to cattle, goats, and horses in certain amounts (sheep are resistant to it). Eating the plant can lead to serious health consequences or the death of animals within a few days. Since this plant is fairly common in the Netherlands, it is important to remove ragwort as much as possible.By consistently removing ragwort, illnesses in animals are prevented and its spread is limited. Before removing it, make sure you are removing the correct vegetation. It is sometimes confused with other plants such as tansy ragwort, tansy, or false dandelion.
