Ditch blade handle ATLAS of ash wood, length 270 cm and diameter 4.5 cm. The handle is taper-milled and is supplied including the large scythe ring (40 x 35 mm) with item number 656900. This handle is suitable for the ditch blade or scythe 60 cm (DENKER, Sulinger model) with item number 920780.

ATLAS ditch blade handles are made from ash rootstocks, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-resistant and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process sawn ash wood planks are air-dried. During the second process the ash wood is re-dried in a climate chamber under computer control. Due to the re-drying the handle does not shrink and tools remain firmly fixed to the handle.

Next the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based carnauba wax. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt, and retains its attractive natural color. Waxing provides a longer lifespan and a pleasant smooth handle, which helps prevent blisters. Moreover, waxing handles with plant-based wax is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
