D-handle ATLAS 85 cm straight with long point for ballast shovel

D-handle ATLAS of ash wood, straight handle with a long point, 85 cm in length. This handle is suitable for an aluminium ballast shovel. The comfortable D-grip and strong handle are manufactured from a single piece by a CNC-controlled machine. The D-grip's handpiece is reinforced with a metal pin.

ATLAS D-handles are made from ash rootstocks, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process sawn ash planks are air-dried. During the second process the ash wood is computer-controlled re-dried in a climate chamber. Because of the re-drying the handle does not shrink, and tools remain firmly attached to the handle.

Subsequently the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba wax. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt and retains its beautiful natural colour. Waxing ensures a longer lifespan and a pleasantly smooth handle, preventing blisters. Moreover, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than the use of varnish or paraffin.

ATLAS D-handles are manufactured completely energy-neutral in the Netherlands and are available in various lengths and versions.
