D-handle ATLAS 85 cm straight with long point for ballast shovel

ATLAS D-handle made of ash wood, straight handle with a long point, 85 cm in length. This handle is suitable for an aluminium ballast shovel. The comfortable D-grip and strong handle are manufactured from a single piece by a CNC-controlled machine. The handle of the D-grip is reinforced with a metal pin.

ATLAS D-handles are made from ash tree rootstock, which contains the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing, and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process, sawn ash wood planks are air-dried. During the second process, the ash wood is computer-controlled kiln-dried in a climate chamber. Because of this re-drying, the handle does not shrink, and tools remain securely fixed to the handle.

The ATLAS handle is then waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This allows the wood to breathe, prevents it from absorbing water or dirt, and helps preserve its beautiful natural color. The waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasant, smooth handle, helping prevent blisters. In addition, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.

ATLAS D-handles are manufactured entirely carbon-neutral in the Netherlands and are available in various lengths and versions.
