Concrete shovel ATLAS 1/2 0 red, extra hardened, with ATLAS shovel handle 100 cm bent
Straight concrete shovel with extra hardened blade and strong ATLAS handle
Concrete shovel ATLAS with socket setting 1/2 bent up, blade size 0 and straight edge. Complete with a bent ATLAS shovel handle in length 100 cm, provided with a through-mount T-grip. The red lacquered blade is extra hardened. This concrete shovel is often used by pavers, infrastructure companies and landscapers.
The ash wood ATLAS shovel handle is made from ash rootstocks, which contain the best timber. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood has been computer-controlled re-dried in a climate chamber. As a result the handle does not shrink, tools remain firmly fixed to the handle, and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or a staple.
ATLAS handles are bent in boiling water. This causes the wood grain or fibres in the handle to bend with it and prevents the grain from running out of the handle. The bending process makes the handle extremely strong. In addition, the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba, which provides a longer lifespan and a pleasant smooth handle, helping to prevent blisters.
Explanation of socket angle
The socket angle indicates the angle relative to the blade. The higher the socket angle, the more slanted the socket is. This determines whether a spade or shovels is designed for digging or scooping. The socket angle is measured from the ground to the socket when the blade lies flat on the ground.
Straight: the handle is almost straight up from the blade
1/4: the socket is bent up 35 mm, for example for digging shovels
1/2: the socket is bent up 55 mm, for example for scoop shovels and concrete shovels
3/4: the socket is bent up 70 cm, for example with scoop shovels and deep shovels
Explanation of blade width
In the past there were blade widths that ran from number 2 down to 0, with 2 being the largest. Over time the blades had to be made smaller due to working conditions and smaller sizing standards were introduced.
The blade sizes for shovels and spades are from large to small: 2 – 1 – 0 – 00 – 000
