How do you set a mouse trap?

Open the capture cage and place a small amount of bait in the designated spot (at the back of the capture cage).
Use attractive bait such as peanut butter, chocolate spread, seeds, or nut butter.
Check that the mechanism works properly and that the door closes smoothly.
Place the cage securely on a flat surface.

Where do you place a mouse trap?

Place the capture cage along walls, baseboards, or in corners (mice rarely run through open areas).
Position the cage opening in the direction the mouse travels.
Place the cage in spots where you see activity (droppings, gnaw marks, nesting material).
Make sure the cage does not wobble or shift.

How can you best catch mice?

Use multiple capture cages for faster results.
Check the cages at least 1–2 times a day to reduce stress on the animal.
Use fresh bait and replace it regularly.
Keep the area clean and remove food sources.

What to do with a caught mouse?

Wear gloves when handling the capture cage.
Move the cage carefully without letting the mouse escape.
Release the mouse in a suitable location, preferably away from the home (follow local guidelines).
Clean the cage if needed before using it again.
Always wash your hands afterward.


Tip: Mice are curious but cautious. If needed, leave the cage with bait for a while without setting it (pre-baiting) to increase the chance of capture.
Attach a cord to the cage. This makes it easier to move.
