Axe handle ATLAS 90 cm bent, head size 75 x 32 mm, for a 2250-gram axe

ATLAS axe handle made of ash wood, with head size 75 x 32 mm and length 90 cm. This bent handle is suitable for an axe with a weight of 2250 grams. For mounting the handle the axe wedge set with article number 651815 is recommended (wooden wedge 70 x 80 mm and 2 metal wedges no.4 22 mm).

ATLAS axe handles are made from ash wood rootstocks, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process sawn ash wood planks are air-dried. During the second process the ash wood is computer-controlled re-dried in a climate chamber. By re-drying the handle does not shrink and the axe head remains tightly fixed to the handle.

Next the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt and retains its beautiful natural color. The waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasant smooth handle, thereby preventing blisters. Moreover, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
