Ragwort fork SPEAR & JACKSON 4-prong with T-handle and sliding mechanism

This fork is perfect for removing ragwort. Also suitable for digging out other root weeds such as dandelion, sorrel, or thistles.

With the sliding mechanism, the dug-up plant is easily pushed off the tines. By moving the sleeve at the bottom of the handle downward, the plate slides over the tines. Thanks to the straight top of the step, footwear is not damaged and the user can apply extra force with the foot.

The wide T-grip is equipped with comfortable non-slip grips that ensure a good, firm hold. Using the fork with both hands makes digging out relatively easy. Be careful with heavier soil types such as clay or compacted ground.

Ragwort (Jacobaea vulgaris subsp. vulgaris) is an herbaceous plant that is toxic to cattle, goats, and horses in certain quantities (sheep are resistant to it). Eating the plant can lead to serious health consequences or death in animals within a few days. Since this plant is fairly common in the Netherlands, it is important to remove ragwort as much as possible.

Consistently removing ragwort prevents illnesses in animals and limits its spread.

Before removing it, make sure you are removing the correct vegetation. It is sometimes confused with other plants such as tansy, tansy ragwort, or false chamomile.
