Engineer's hammer handle ATLAS 500 grams, head size 15.5 x 26.5 mm according to DIN5111

ATLAS engineer's hammer handle made of ash wood for a 500-gram engineer's hammer, with head size 26 x 19 mm and length 32 cm. Due to the oval shape of the handle, the hammer head always aligns in the correct striking direction. For mounting the handle, a metal hammer wedge no. 3 with article number 651425 is recommended.

ATLAS hammer handles are made from the lower trunks of ash wood, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process sawn ash wood boards are air-dried. During the second process the ash wood is re-dried in a climate chamber under computer control. Because of the re-drying the handle does not shrink and the hammer head remains firmly fixed to the handle.

Next, the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based carnauba. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt and retains its attractive natural pale colour. Waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasantly smooth handle, which prevents blisters. Moreover, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
