ATLAS fencing maul handles are made from ash rootstocks, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes. By re-drying, the handle does not shrink and the head remains firmly fixed to the handle. The ATLAS handle is then waxed with plant-based carnauba. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt, and keeps its attractive pale colour. The waxing provides a longer lifespan and a pleasant smooth handle, preventing blisters.
