Spade handle ATLAS 95 cm, with through-mount T-grip, for Ideal spade

Ideal spade handle ATLAS of ash wood, 95 cm long, fitted with a smooth, narrow point and a strong through-mount T-grip. This handle is, among other things, suitable for Ideal spades with double tangs. For mounting a 50 mm rivet is recommended (article number 651620, including mounting advice).

ATLAS Ideal spade handles are made from ash wood lower trunks, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-resistant and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process the sawn ash wood planks are air-dried. During the second process the ash wood is re-dried in a climate chamber controlled by computer. Because of the re-drying the handle does not shrink, tools remain firmly attached to the handle and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or a staple.

Finally, the ATLAS handles are waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt and retains its attractive natural color. Waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasant smooth handle, which prevents blisters. Moreover, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
