Spade handle ATLAS 85 cm, with through-mount T-grip, for IDEAL Diamant spade

ATLAS ash wood spade handle, 85 cm long, equipped with a round, non-recessed point and a strong through-mount T-grip. This handle is suitable, among other things, for Ideal Diamant spades. For assembly, a 50 mm rivet is recommended (item number 651620, including assembly advice).

ATLAS Ideal spade handles are made from ash rootstock, which contains the best wood. Ash wood is tough, impact-resistant, and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process, sawn ash wood planks are air-dried. During the second process, the ash wood is computer-controlled re-dried in a climate chamber. Because of this re-drying, the handle does not shrink, tools stay firmly attached to the handle, and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or a staple. 

Finally, the ATLAS handles are waxed with plant-based Carnauba wax. This allows the wood to breathe, prevents it from absorbing water or dirt, and helps it retain its beautiful light color. The waxing ensures a longer service life and a pleasantly smooth handle, which helps prevent blisters. In addition, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
