Silky fixed straight pruning saw Gomtaro 180-8 incl. safety holster. SILKY article number KSI310218 Blade length: 180 mm (up to ± 90 mm) Tooth configuration: coarse (8 tines per 30 mm) The straight blade of the Gomtaro pruning saw is nickel-coated and equipped with Silky's unique Mirai-Me tooth configuration. These laser-cut tines, with a kerf of 1.4 mm., saw through fresh wood quickly and easily. The saw blade is flexible and only the razor-sharp tines are impulse hardened. For sawing between knee and shoulder height, a straight saw blade (Type Gomtaro) is recommended; for sawing below the knee and above shoulder height, a bent saw blade (Type Zübat) is recommended. The rubber handle sits comfortably and securely in the hand and absorbs vibrations. The Gomtaro pruning saw is available in multiple lengths. All saws in the Gomtaro series are equipped with a lightweight polypropylene holster with removable belt holder. The holster is designed so that there is no way the saw can fall out of it. At the same time, you can pull the saw out of the holster in one motion. The two rollers in the holster prevent the sharp tines from damaging the sheath, and the bottom has a large opening for removing moisture and sawdust. The saw blade is best cleaned with olive oil. Resin dissolves in olive oil, making this an effective and environmentally friendly way to clean the blade and maintain sawing capacity. Slide the included cover over the cleaned saw blade and store the saw in a dry place. Tip: Keep a spare saw blade nearby, so you can always continue sawing with ease. Silky has been manufactured in Japan since 1919 from high-quality SK-4 carbon steel.
