5-tine broadfork or woeler with strong steel frame and reinforcement bracket

Broadfork or aerator DE PYPERE made of galvanized steel, bracket width 75 cm, with a working width of 52 cm and 5 forged tines 26 cm in length, total height 117 cm. The hand grips have a length of 14 cm. This broadfork is also called a Grelinette or compost fork.


With this broadfork you can easily loosen the topsoil in ornamental or vegetable gardens. It is also used to loosen compost.


Thanks to the leverage of the broadfork, work can be done with relatively little effort. Because of the length of the handle, the user stands upright, which greatly reduces the likelihood of back pain. Due to its wide shape, the handles do not come into contact with the body during use.

At the rear, the broadfork is reinforced with a bracket. In addition to strengthening the fork itself, the bracket also serves as a handy step during use. This allows extra force to be applied with the foot when pushing it into the ground and prevents footwear from being damaged.

Why garden with a broadfork?

Soil cultivation with a broadfork or woeler is a good alternative to Ground stake. By loosening the soil, important nutrients, micro-organisms and other soil life are preserved in the top layer.

When weeding, a broadfork is also useful. By loosening the top layer, the weeds can be easily removed.

How the Broadfork Works

With a broadfork you always work backwards. You keep the bracket away from you so that it points forward. With one foot on the bracket you press the tines into the soil.

Next, pull the bracket backward so the soil comes loose. With a twisting motion, work the soil looser. If necessary, you can use the pins to loosen any larger clumps a bit more.
