DE PYPERE Broadfork for soil cultivation in the ornamental garden and vegetable garden

Broadfork or Aerator DE PYPERE of lacquered steel, bracket width 45 cm, with a working width of 32 cm and 3 forged tines with a length of 26 cm, total height 117 cm. The handles have a length of 14 cm. This broadfork is also called Grelinette, Woeler or Compost fork.


With this broadfork you can easily loosen the top layer in ornamental or vegetable gardens. It is also used to loosen compost.


Thanks to the leverage of the broadfork, work can be done with relatively little effort. Because of the length of the handle, the user stands upright, which significantly reduces the risk of back problems. Because of its wide shape, the handles do not touch the body during use.

At the rear the broadfork is reinforced with a bracket. In addition to strengthening the fork itself, the bracket also serves as a handy step during use. This allows extra force to be applied with the foot when driving it into the ground and prevents footwear from being damaged.

Why garden with a broadfork?

Soil cultivation with a broadfork or woeler is a good alternative to Ground stake. By loosening the soil, important nutrients, microorganisms and other soil life are preserved in the top layer.

When weeding, a broadfork is also useful. By loosening the top layer, the weeds can be easily removed.

How the broadfork works

With a broadfork you always work backwards. You hold the crossbar away from you so it points forward. With one foot on the crossbar you press the tines into the soil.

Then pull the bracket back, which loosens the soil. With a twisting motion, work the soil looser. If necessary, you can use the pins to pry apart any larger clods.
