Our Bhv team carried out an exercise together with the Schijndel Fire Department.
Fire department exercise at Kooijmans
For the fire department, a great opportunity for on-site training; for our Bhv members, an excellent chance to gain experience.
Bhv & Fire Department Exercise
A realistic scenario was set up: a fire broke out in the boiler room and spread to the roof and the filter system on the roof. In the production area, two service technicians were at work. In addition, there was a roofer working on the roof who had broken his hip.
Around 19:30, the slow-whoop went off (alarm sound signal) and our Bhv members sprang into action. After the fire was reported to the emergency control room, two fire engines and a water tanker came to the Kooijmans building. And because the Veghel Fire Department has a new aerial platform, they were also eager to have it take part in the exercise.
After the joint effort of the fire department and the Bhv team, the exercise was rounded off and evaluated around 21:00. It was an educational evening for everyone involved and certainly worth repeating.
We thank the Schijndel Fire Department and our colleagues for their efforts.
Good to know:
No real fire was used during the exercise. So no Atlas handles were lost.
