This ditch scythe is also called a heath scythe. This model is ideal for mowing and cutting out reed, grass and regrowth on embankments, banks and wet hay meadows. The angle of this scythe is flatter (large tang angle) than that of a standard scythe. This preserves the correct cutting angle underwater while the user stands on the bank. Because of its 45 cm width the Zwei Rinder ditch scythe is ideal for winding banks or rough terrain.
The ditch scythe is often mounted on a bent shovel handle for a comfortable working angle. By combining the ditch scythe with a long pole or a ditch hook handle, reeds and other vegetation can be cut far into the water. Long poles and ditch hook handles are available in various lengths.
