ATLAS edging knife handle of ash wood, straight handle with a wide grip and an offset tip, 80 cm long. This handle is suitable for a DE WIT edging knife with article number 1019000. The 25 cm wide grip provides a comfortable hold and good working posture.
ATLAS edging knife handles are made from ash rootstocks, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process sawn ash planks are air-dried. During the second process the ash wood is re-dried in a computer-controlled climate chamber. Because of the re-drying the handle does not shrink and tools remain firmly attached to the handle.
Subsequently the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt, and retains its beautiful natural light colour. The waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasant smooth handle, which prevents blisters. Moreover, waxing handles with plant-based wax is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
This ATLAS edging knife handle is manufactured entirely energy-neutral in the Netherlands.
