Rake handle ATLAS of ash wood, in length 170 cm and diameter 3.2 cm, provided with a long tip of 95 x 17 mm. Thanks to the tapered shape the handle sits comfortably in the hand and gives the user a good grip.
These ATLAS rake handles are made from ash rootstocks, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-resistant and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process sawn ash boards are air-dried. During the second process the ash wood is re-dried in a climate chamber under computer control. By re-drying the handle does not shrink and tools remain firmly attached to the handle.
Next the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt and retains its beautiful natural color. The waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasant smooth handle, which prevents blisters. Moreover, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
ATLAS ash rake handles are manufactured entirely energy-neutral in the Netherlands. Rake handles are available in different wood species and finishes.
