Ash wood handle Atlas in length 100 cm, suitable for the Block paving hammer with a hole. This ash wood handle is 10 cm longer than the metal handle that is standard in the Block paving hammer. This allows you to stand more upright while striking, resulting in a better working posture.
Atlas hammer handles are made from ash wood rootstocks, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process the sawn ash wood planks are air-dried. During the second process the ash wood is re-dried in a computer-controlled climate chamber. Because of the re-drying the handle does not shrink and the hammer head remains firmly fixed to the handle.
Subsequently, the Atlas handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt, and retains its beautiful natural color. The waxing provides a longer lifespan and a pleasant smooth handle, preventing blisters. Moreover, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
Atlas handles are manufactured entirely energy-neutral in the Netherlands.
