Pitchfork handle ATLAS 165 cm, with bushing, drilled
ATLAS pitchfork handle made of ash wood, with a length of 165 cm. Fitted with a ferrule and a drilled hole. This long handle is suitable for two- or three-tine pitchforks with a pin connection.
ATLAS pitchfork handles are made from the lower trunks of ash trees, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process the sawn ash wood boards are air-dried. During the second process the ash wood is computer-controlled re-dried in a climate chamber. Because of the re-drying the handle does not shrink and tools remain firmly attached to the handle.
Next the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt and retains its attractive natural colour. The waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasant smooth handle, preventing blisters. Moreover, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
ATLAS pitchfork handles are manufactured entirely energy-neutrally in the Netherlands and are available in various lengths.
