Plastic D-handle ATLAS 95 cm straight, milled end for ballast shovel

Plastic D-handle ATLAS made of ash wood, straight handle with plastic D-grip, length 95 cm. This handle has a milled end, suitable for a ballast shovel. The comfortable plastic D-grip of this handle consists of a sturdy plastic grip fitted with an ash wood handgrip. This handle is often used together with a grain shovel, ballast shovel or rubble fork.

ATLAS plastic D-handles are made from ash tree butt sections, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process sawn ash wood boards are air-dried. During the second process the ash wood is computer-controlled re-dried in a climate chamber. Because of the re-drying the handle does not shrink and tools remain firmly attached to the handle.

Subsequently the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based carnauba. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt, and retains its beautiful natural colour. Waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasant smooth handle, preventing blisters. Moreover, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
