Shovel handle ATLAS 160 cm bent
Shovel handle ATLAS made of ash wood, bent model, length 160 cm. This shovel handle is often used together with tools that are fitted with a (lip) socket.
ATLAS shovel handles are made from ash wood lower trunks, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process sawn ash wood planks are air-dried. During the second process the ash wood is re-dried in a climate chamber under computer control. By re-drying the tool remains firmly attached to the handle.
Next the ATLAS shovel handles are bent in boiling water. This makes the wood grain or fiber in the handle follow the bend and prevents the grain from running out of the handle (a running grain is weaker). The bending process makes the handle extremely strong.
Finally the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This ensures the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt and retains its beautiful natural color. The waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasant smooth handle, preventing blisters. Moreover, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than the use of varnish or paraffin.
ATLAS shovel handles are manufactured entirely energy-neutral in the Netherlands and are available in various lengths and designs.
