Widely used ATLAS concrete shovel with extra hardened blade and long ATLAS handle

Concrete shovel ATLAS with socket position 1/2 bent, blade size 0 and straight edge. Complete with a bent ATLAS shovel handle 130 cm long, fitted with a through-mount T-grip. The red lacquered blade is extra hardened. This concrete shovel is often used by pavers, infrastructure companies and landscapers.

Thanks to the straight front edge of this concrete shovel, it is ideal for leveling or for evenly scraping off a sand bed or trench.

The ASH WOOD ATLAS shovel handle is made from ash wood rootstocks; they contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood has been re-dried in a climate chamber under computer control. As a result the handle does not shrink and tools remain firmly attached to the handle.

An Atlas shovel handle is bent in boiling water.

ATLAS handles are bent in boiling water. This causes the wood grain or fibers in the handle to bend with it and prevents the grain from running out of the handle. The bending process makes the handle extremely strong. In addition, the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba, which provides a longer lifespan and a pleasantly smooth handle, helping to prevent blisters.

Explanation of socket angle
The socket angle indicates the angle relative to the blade. The higher the socket angle, the more inclined the socket. This determines whether a spade or shovel is designed for digging or scooping. The socket angle is measured from the ground to the socket when the blade lies flat on the ground.

Straight: the handle stands almost straight up from the blade
1/4: the socket is bent up 35 mm, for example for digging shovels
1/2: the socket is bent up 55 mm, for example for scoop shovels and concrete shovels
3/4: the socket is bent up 70 cm, for example for scoop shovels and deep shovels

Explanation of blade width
In the past there were blade widths that ran from number 2 down to 0, with 2 being the largest. Over time the blades had to be made smaller due to working conditions and smaller sizing was introduced.

The blade sizes for shovels and spades, from large to small, are: 2 – 1 – 0 – 00 – 000
