Ragwort fork ATLAS 3 tines with D-handle, length 102 cm
Ragwort fork for removing ragwort and other root weeds.
Ragwort fork or Ragfork ATLAS made of steel with 3 tines, wide step and plastic D-handle, grey powder-coated, total length 102 cm.
The ideal tool for removing common ragwort. Also suitable for digging out other root weeds such as dandelions, sorrel, or thistles.
The ATLAS ragwort fork has a wide straight step, allowing the user to apply extra force with the foot when inserting the tines. Thanks to the straight top of the step, footwear is not damaged.
Because of the length, wide step, lever support and D-handle, the user can easily work while standing upright, which contributes to an ergonomic working posture. The D-handle also provides a good, firm grip.
How the ragwort fork works
The tines of the weed fork are inserted into the ground beside the plant up to the step. Thanks to the rounded rear support, the fork can be easily levered back, lifting the entire plant out of the ground. Use caution with heavier soil types such as clay or compacted soils.
Why remove ragwort with the ragwort fork?
Common ragwort (Jacobaea vulgaris subsp. vulgaris) is a herbaceous plant that is toxic to cattle, goats and horses (sheep are resistant to it). Eating the plant can lead to serious health effects or death of animals within a few days. As this plant is fairly common in the Netherlands, it is important that common ragwort is removed as much as possible.
By consistently removing common ragwort, illnesses in animals are prevented and its spread is contained.
Before removing it, carefully check that you are removing the correct vegetation. It is sometimes confused with other plants such as Jacobskruid, tansy (Boerenwormkruid) or Groot Streepzaad.
