The epoxy coating on the spade blade provides resistance to rust and damage.
The Atlas spade handle is made from ash wood rootstocks, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood has been re-dried in a computer-controlled climate chamber. As a result the handle does not shrink and tools remain firmly fixed to the handle. In addition, the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba, which ensures a longer service life and a pleasant, smooth handle that helps prevent blisters.
